About Us
Who. At present, Charlotte Lehman Design is a project spearheaded by me, Charlotte Emiko Tsuyuki Lehman, and supported and encouraged by family and friends. So - no big corporate resources, nor bureaucracies - just me, writing blessings, and working them into visually engaging designs on cards or other items, and making those items available here on this website. By the way, I call this the "About Us" page rather than the "About Me" page not because I am assuming a sort of royal, plural persona, but because everything I do is a team effort in some way or another. :)
Why. I believe that every one of us has tremendous personal power, and one of the channels of that power are the words we choose to speak or write to one another. We can, for example, build up, encourage, stand in solidarity with, inspire, express love, help carry painful burdens, and even express differences in words that bless. Or, we can tear down, discourage, ostracize, condemn, abandon, and express contempt - cursing others with our words. I hope to encourage the practice of using one's power to bless by supplying blessings, on cards, t-shirts, and perhaps on other items as well eventually. May those who are searching for the right words, or the right combination of visual design and words, to bless others, be aided here.
What. Blessings are appropriate for all the obvious big events in life, such as graduations, weddings, retirements, birthdays, and funerals, as well as for all the other, less remarked-upon ones, such as the first day of school, starting a new job, the death of a pet, or getting emotional or physical healing for a painful experience. I plan to keep writing and designing blessings for many different occasions.
